Mercury joins the Libra party/brawl

On October 4, Mercury, the god of communication, enters Libra. Libra is an air sign ruled by Venus, the goddess of love, and is all about diplomacy, fairness, and balance. Mercury will be joining the Sun, Mars and the South Node which are already in Libra. So…it’s a bit of a Libra party, or should I say brawl?? With Mars there since late August, you may have been experiencing conflict with others related to whatever house Libra occupies in your chart. Mars is the god of war and has a rough time in diplomatic Libra and the tense energy is intensifying with Mars about to square Pluto (Oct. 8), the god of the underworld, bringing the potential for power struggles in your one-on-one relationships.

When Mercury enters Libra, you may find you get a bit more information on what is underlying any tense energy you’ve been feeling. And with the difficult square aspect to Pluto building, it is especially important to gather information before you react to any triggers that may come your way in the next few days. A line from Cat Stevens song “Father and Son” came to mind as I was writing this: “take some time, think a lot…” this is good advice during this potentially rocky time. The good news is that on October 12, Mars will be moving into Scorpio, moving past its contact with Pluto and easing tensions that may have arisen over the past few weeks.
